    Beyond a joke!!Third time in a year I've tried to close an account with HSBC and yet I keep getting charged! Very very annoying and inconvenient!

    Being a Premier customer at this bank is meaningless. Visited the branch yesterday to do two transactions. The Premier section front desk was unattended. I noticed a person looking like the manager, sitting in her office typing away on her iPhone. It was obvious that she was busy with her private matters. I walked over to asked for some help. I got a very irritated response asking me to take a seat and wait. Around 5 minutes later a person appeared to help. This person had no access to any computer and wanted me to discuss my banking requirements with her at the reception desk whilst she makes notes on a piece of paper to take it to someone else to do the work. I refused to discuss my details in public in front of other customers. Meanwhile the manager was still playing on her iPhone, completely unconcerned about the poor service at this bank. After a long wait someone finally appeared that could help. I spent more than 2 hours to do two transactions at the bank. The bank’s systems are archaic and the people are rude. To change a payment limit on an account can take up to two weeks, yes two weeks! That’s because it’s all on paper and cannot be done electronically. If you change the payment limit on any account it can only be for one creditor at a time. Not for all payments from the account, only to one payee at a time! Another thing I noticed is that in every branch I have visited in Australia I have only seen 1 person that is not Chinese. I get that many of the customers are Chinese but wonder whether there is unfair discrimination in their hiring practices. It certainly seems that way to me.
