    I'm used to GREAT customer service from American retailers. Alas, not Pottery Barn Australia. Tried to buy a desk and hutch ($1200) online. Not available online so I drive to their store in Chatswood. Computer down - can't process any orders. They take my details and say they will call back to do the order over the phone. Nothing for 2 days. So yesterday I call back and speak to a more senior member of their sales team. She assures me that there is stock in their warehouse but it's not showing online. Promises to call be back by the end of the day. No call back. I call yet again this morning. Go through the whole "not available online" issue. Person I need to speak to is on the phone. Promises to call back. Still waiting. Wondering if I'll ever get to buy this desk!!!!

    WARNING: Leadtimes for delivery are inaccurate on the Pottery Barn website. Lead times are 3-4 weeks from purchase. I ordered a cot from Pottery Barn Kids on June 8th with a delivery time of 1-3 working days for Sydney metro. It's June 24th and I still don't have the cot and I was told by their customer service team that I should've included an additional 6 days processing time and that I was unable to cancel the order as it was 'released' on their system(!!!). Last week I was told it would be delivered June 26th. This week I was told it 'could be delivered' June 29th. This company has supply chain management issues. Check the lead times before committing to purchase as they won't refund you if they are delayed by 2-3 weeks.

    Understand this isn’t something that is within the control of the staff at the store but they need to get better at notifying customers who have paid and are waiting for a service! When I rang last week to enquire about progress, my call was answered by a lady who rudely told me to pick up the item and get it done elsewhere if I wasn’t happy to wait. I don’t think a lot of people would be happy to wait for 4 weeks, lady. Oh, and she never once apologised for the inconvenience and also didn’t want to return the $15 we paid for the monogramming. Shocking really!

    Visited Pottery Barn Kids at Chatswood over 4 weeks ago to purchase a personalised Anywhere Chair for our niece’s birthday. The monogram machine was broken, and is still broken 4 weeks later, so we have had to retrieve our item from the store and pay to get it monogrammed elsewhere!
